Guests also enjoy special access to the Trust’s Umani Reintegration Unit, home to our vulnerable orphaned elephants as they find their way back to the wild.

Established in 2014, Umani Springs is a sanctuary for our most vulnerable orphaned elephants — those with the most challenging histories and the longest roads back to the wild. Tucked within the gentle Kibwezi Forest, the unit is surrounded by extraordinary biodiversity, from elephants to a spectacular array of birds and butterflies.
Guests are invited to join the orphans and their Keepers for sunrise and sunset at the Umani stockades, and at the midday mud bath — a rare opportunity to experience elephants in their natural habitat and meet the people who are shaping the future of wildlife.
